Product Description
Metchem 6850 is a synthetic heavy-duty metal forming and stamping fluid with excellent boundary lubrication properties. The lubricating and load carrying properties have been optimized through the use of a laboratory and field testing, and as a result, the extreme pressure properties compare favorably with any synthetic drawing compound available today.
Metchem 6850 can be used on all ferrous and non-ferrous materials without rusting, staining or water spotting, and in addition, it is fortified with an anti-leaching compound to protect cobalt dies. It can be used in place of solvent based vanishing oils to reduce VOC’s, and it is free of chlorine, mineral oil, sulfur and other environmentally undesirable additives which improves plant cleanliness and compatibility with sensitive secondary process operations.
Product Applications
- For use in deep draw applications, it can be used straight or diluted up to 4:1 in water.
- To replace straight oils in mild blanking and piercing operations, it can be diluted up to 10:1 in water.
- For light stamping operations, it can be diluted up to 20:1 in water.
Directions for Use
Metchem 6850 is miscible with water in all proportions, and the concentrate should always be added to the water to ensure proper mixing.
